Team MVP (Regular Season)
The Team MVP is one of the highest honours a player can receive during the regular season. It is awarded to the one player who truly stood out from start to finish — the player who was consistently the strength of the team and the one everyone looked to in the biggest moments. This is often the player who played key minutes, contributed heavily on the power play, was counted on game in and game out, and was recognized as a leader both on and off the ice. It is not limited by age or experience, as either a rookie or veteran may earn it, but the winner must clearly have been the team’s go-to player all season long.
Post Season MVP
The Post Season MVP recognizes the player who rose above the rest when the games mattered most. This award is given at the conclusion of all playoffs and is meant for the player who had the greatest impact on the team’s playoff run through work ethic, timely contributions, and performance in critical moments. While offensive numbers may factor in, the award is not just about scoring. It can also reflect defensive play, penalty killing, plus-minus, goaltending, physical play, or the ability to shut down top opponents. It is meant to honour the player who elevated his game and helped drive the team in the postseason.
