The Carstar Okotoks Bisons captured their 12th HJHL Championship during the 2021–2022 season, delivering one of the most dominant modern campaigns in franchise history and proving that the championship standard never faded — it simply reloaded.
The Bisons finished 1st overall in the HJHL with a remarkable record of 33 wins, 2 losses, and 1 overtime loss, earning 67 points and an elite .931 winning percentage. Offensively explosive and defensively airtight, the team scored 248 goals while allowing just 68 against, backed by five shutouts along the way — a season defined by pace, pressure, and precision.
When playoff time arrived, the Bisons left no doubt. They powered through the postseason and captured their 12th HJHL Championship, once again raising the league banner in Okotoks.
The momentum carried into Provincials, where the Bisons posted a strong 3–1–1 record, earning the Provincial Bronze Medal and reaffirming their place among Alberta’s elite programs.
This championship season was guided by President Jason McFarlane, General Managers Ryan Rarick and Dan Dumanski, Head Coach Brad Cobb, and assistant coaches Trevor McFarlane, Trevor Bueckert, and Dr. Cale Granson — a leadership group that blended experience, energy, and accountability to drive the program back to the top.
The 2021–2022 Bisons weren’t just champions — they were the proof that excellence in Okotoks spans generations. Different era. Same standard. Another banner raised.
