The Carstar Okotoks Bisons captured their 11th HJHL Championship during the 2013–2014 season, completing an achievement that no team in HJHL history had ever accomplished before — or has since. With this title, the Bisons secured an unprecedented four consecutive HJHL Championships, cementing a stretch of true dominance between 2010 and 2014 that stands alone in league history.
The Bisons finished the regular season 1st overall in the HJHL, posting a record of 26 wins, 9 losses, and 1 overtime loss for 53 points. While the numbers told part of the story, what followed defined an era. With 165 goals for and 113 goals against, the Bisons once again proved they were built for playoff hockey — structured, resilient, and relentless when the stakes were highest.
When the postseason arrived, the Bisons did what they had done year after year — they won. The playoff victory delivered the program’s 4th straight HJHL Championship, a feat unmatched in league history. No other team before or since has come close to sustaining this level of championship excellence over a four-year span.
Provincials proved to be a tightly contested tournament, with the Bisons finishing 1–1–1, narrowly missing the opportunity to compete for a provincial medal. But the story of 2013–2014 was never about Provincials — it was about history, legacy, and a standard that no one else could reach.
This championship season was guided by President Jay Pritchard, General Managers Zach Baba and Jason McFarlane, Head Coach Mike Hannigan, and assistant coaches Trevor Snodgrass and Blake Wildeman.
The 11th HJHL Championship wasn’t just another banner — it was the exclamation point on the greatest championship run the HJHL has ever seen. Four straight titles. Four straight years on top. True dominance. Unmatched. Unrepeatable.
